CBI—IMPACT EDGE

The IMPACT EDGE system is based on various combative orientations and experiences. The Pacific island martial arts are not the corner stone of the system but they do play a major role in principle and platform development.

The sole focus of the 'EDGE' program is to develop a well rounded practitioner using edged weapons as the jump off point. All the systems into which experience has been extracted from are indeed survived systems. They have been forged and tested in the heat of combat not only from ancient times, but drawn from the experiences of wars and battles fought these past few centuries.

One can readily observe the influences of the Majapahit fighting systems integrated with innovative lessons from Europe, the Far East, Western Asia and surrounding regions. When combined, one discovers handling attributes which present certain lines or angles of attack which were previously unavailable in systems merely implementing a sword. This greatly influences the use of knives, and lends to appreciation of the combat effectiveness of an impact weapon. This merging advent is a more aggressive use of knife applications in terms of primary and supplementary applications in thrusting, slashing, parrying, checking, blocking, etc.

The areas that are introduced and developed focus first on impact and edged weapon familiarization. This is further expanded into the empty hands skills of disarming, striking; and the variants on grappling/wrestling associated with edged weapons.
